Raices Foundation Presents Project Together

A Collaborative Project with Two Nonprofits, Project YAGE and Stitching Talents

Article Author: Gerard Lapuente from Raices Foundation

At Raices Foundation, we believe that education is the cornerstone of community development. That is why we are thrilled to announce our collaboration with two wonderful nonprofit organizations, Project YAGE, and Stitching Talents, on an initiative that aligns perfectly with our mission to uplift and empower communities. This partnership, called Project Together, is a library initiative in Togo that aims to provide access to educational resources and foster a culture of learning in underrepresented communities.

The Vision Behind Project Together

Project Together is more than just a library. It is a space where individuals of all ages can come together to learn, grow, and connect. The idea was born from a shared vision between Raices Foundation, Project YAGE, and Stitching Talents—a vision where education becomes the key to unlocking potential and creating sustainable change.

Collaboration for Impact

Each organization brings its unique strengths to the table. Raices Foundation contributes our experience in community outreach and educational program development. Project YAGE, founded by Oumou Hani Zakaria, brings expertise in local engagement and implementation in Togo, ensuring the initiative is tailored to the community's needs. Stitching Talents, under the leadership of Emmanuela 'Ella' Oppong, adds a creative dimension by integrating arts and crafts workshops into the library's offerings, which not only nurture creativity but also provide valuable skills training.

What Project Together Offers

The library will serve as a hub for various activities, including:

  • Access to Books and Educational Materials: Provide books in multiple languages to cater to all age groups.

  • Skill-Building Workshops: Offer sessions on arts, crafts, and other vocational skills, led by Stitching Talents.

  • Community Engagement Programs: Facilitate discussions, reading groups, and other community-based events.

  • Digital Literacy: Introduce basic computer skills training to bridge the digital divide and prepare individuals for a more connected world.

Looking Ahead

As we launch Project Together, we are ecstatic about its impact on the Togo community. We envision a future where the library becomes a beacon of hope and inspiration for young students.

Stay tuned for Project Together updates as we build a brighter future, one page at a time.
